Advanced Feature Writing for Fall 2013

Fast Hands on KeyboardMy Advanced Feature Writing night course is scheduled to run this fall, beginning Thursday, Sept. 12. The focus is on “literary journalism,” which translates into long-form nonfiction using techniques borrowed from novelists to tell the story. I also emphasize developing ideas that have a high potential of being sold. Often half or more of  the students are working journalists taking the course for professional development. You can read the course outline on the “Teaching” page of this web site. The link to the course on Ryerson’s Magazine & Web Publishing site is below.  If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, I’d be grateful if you passed the information along.
